In April 1994, Côte Nord Magazine also dedicated a page to Paradise Cove, which had recently undergone a major renovation and received several distinctions reflecting its growing ambitions.
The Anse la Raie hotel had notably joined Small Luxury Hotels of the World, a collection that at the time comprised just 104 hotels worldwide. The article also highlighted its Fleurir Maurice award and its selection by the French Passe-Privilège label. Renovated rooms, redesigned beaches, a broader dining offering and enhanced services all accompanied the property’s move further upmarket.
Beyond the accolades, the article already captured what made the setting distinctive: its secluded coves, lagoon, lush vegetation, intimate atmosphere and views towards the northern islands.
More than thirty years later, this archive offers a snapshot of a period when Mauritian hospitality was asserting its expertise with increasing confidence on the international stage, while continuing to celebrate what sets it apart: the warmth of Mauritian hospitality.
