After more than thirty years of telling the story of Mauritius and supporting the people who bring its tourism industry to life, Travel-Îles is reinventing itself with a new format — more immersive, more human, and firmly focused on imagery, encounters and meaningful stories.

Our perspective is evolving, but our passion remains unchanged.

We want to continue revealing Mauritius in a different way: not only through its landscapes, but above all through the women and men who give the island its soul. Artisans, chefs, creators, entrepreneurs, passionate individuals, guardians of heritage, familiar faces and lesser-known talents alike… their voices, gestures and savoir-faire all tell the story of an island that is vibrant, authentic and deeply human.

From Mauritius, our perspective is also expanding across the Indian Ocean, exploring its islands, cultures, traditions, initiatives and the stories that connect them.

This new chapter builds on a story that began in 1994, when Claude Huc, driven by his love for Mauritius, created Côte Nord Magazine with one simple ambition: to tell the story of the island as it deserved to be told.

Over the years, Côte Nord grew alongside the development of Mauritian tourism, bringing together within its pages the many people and organisations contributing to the destination’s reputation. Hoteliers, restaurateurs, artisans, institutions, guides, airlines and many others placed their trust in the magazine. From a publication of just a few pages, it grew to become a recognised reference in tourism publishing in Mauritius.

In 2018, Côte Nord became Travel-Îles by Côte Nord, embracing a new identity while preserving its heritage and broadening its outlook across the Indian Ocean region.

In 2026, the story continues, with a fresh perspective.

A new website. A new rhythm. A stronger focus on video, storytelling, emotions and experiences.

And a renewed ambition: to make Travel-Îles, in the spirit and continuity of Côte Nord Magazine, a platform that brings together tourism professionals and everyone committed to promoting an inspiring, authentic and high-quality image of Mauritius and the Indian Ocean.

A space where destinations, professionals, initiatives, talents and stories worth sharing can come together.

More than thirty years after the first pages of Côte Nord were published, we are delighted to write this new chapter with you.
