The Diocesan Tourism Commission Supporting Mauritius’ Tourism Workforce
Marie Malié outlines the mission, priorities and initiatives of the Diocesan Tourism Commission in support of tourism professionals across Mauritius.
Established in 1987, the Diocesan Tourism Commission supports the women and men working across Mauritius’ tourism industry. Its mission is to listen to their concerns, respond to the realities of their professional lives and strengthen the connection between the Church and those who contribute to the sector.
The annual Tourism Mass remains one of the highlights of the Commission’s calendar, but its work extends well beyond this symbolic event. Over the years, it has developed a range of initiatives designed to recognise, unite and support the people who welcome visitors to Mauritius every day.
Marie Malié, President of the Diocesan Tourism Commission, reflects on the organisation’s priorities, achievements and future challenges. She also emphasises the importance of building closer relationships with tourism professionals and maintaining a stronger presence on the ground.
Travel-Îles shines a light on an organisation committed to supporting the people at the heart of Mauritius’ tourism industry.
